Mia Victoria Espinoza died in her mother’s arms on the morning of Monday, Sept. 12, her obituary says.
Born in Long Branch, Mia was described as “one in a billion” and an incredible inspiration, according to her memorial.
“Life with Mia was a dream,” her obituary says. “Although her time with her family was short, she brought such a bright light into those who got the chance to meet her.”
Mia leaves behind her wonderfully loving parents, Alexandria Espinoza and Brian Kelly, as well as several extended family members whose lives she has forever impacted for the greater.
Meanwhile, nearly $7,000 had poured in on a GoFundMe launched for Mia’s funeral expenses as of Friday, Sept. 23.
“Alex was told during pregnancy that the odds of Mia living past birth were extremely low,” reads the campaign, launched by Chris Titmas. “The family said their goodbyes to Mia the night before she was born however, she beat the odds and we were blessed with 11 months of love.”
The campaign continues to describe Mia as a teacher of love, patience, and perseverance.
“…But most of all she helped many of us find/restore faith in Jesus,” Titmas writes.
“All and any donations are greatly appreciated during this extremely difficult time for the family.”
Mia’s funeral visitation was held at the Quinn-Hopping Funeral Home on Friday, Sept. 16 and Saturday, Sept. 17.
